Recipe: Spicy Sweet Potato Fries

It’s finally here! My beloved, spice-filled, baked sweet potato fries recipe. The awesome thing about this recipe is that there are no set amount for how much ingredient to use. You can add more potatoes if you’re cooking for more people and add more spices if you like spicier foods!

Sweet potatoes are the ultimate superfood. They’re high in vitamins A, C, B1, B2, and B3, which play crucial roles in bone and tooth formation, digestion, and fighting off diseases. Eat up  😋

Spicy Sweet Potato Fries

Serves: 2

  • 2 sweet potatoes
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ¼ – ½ tsp. cumin
  • ½ tsp. paprika
  • ½ tsp. ground ginger
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Wash the potatoes—this is especially important because potatoes grow underground, so they’re especially dirty! Next cut the potatoes to form a thick french fry shape. In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with oil. Add in the spices and garlic, and mix everything together. Line a baking tray with parchment paper, and place spiced potatoes on the parchment. Try not to overlap the slices, as they tend to get soggier in the oven when they touch. Bake for 15 minutes, flip the potatoes slices over, and bake for another 15 minutes. Optional: sprinkle salt over ‘em when they come out of the oven!

Note: I don’t recommend eating these leftover; they aren’t too good, since they get easily soggy. Enjoy them right out of the oven!
