Five Ways to Feel Your Best During Your Workout

  1. Stay hydrated. No, this does not mean chugging a bottle of water right before you take off. Drink water throughout the day, and make sure to drink up afterward as well.
  2. Eat right. Typically you want carbohydrates before a workout and protein afterward to recover. Everyone’s different about how much food to eat before a workout. Some need a snack minutes before, while others need a meal hours in advance. Therefore, test each, and do whatever works best for your body.

  3. Stretch afterward. I cannot stress this enough: stretching prevents from SO MANY painful injuries!
  4. Wear the right clothes. The “right clothes” to wear varies from person to person. Some like tight-fitted clothing, while others like loosely fitted. Some like tanks, others like short-sleeves. Wear what makes you feel the most comfortable! This will help you make the most of your workout.
  5. When needed, give yourself a break. You do not need to do the most intense workout everyday. In fact, you should give yourself at least one rest day every week! A variety of factors play a role in how we feel each day, so taking those into account will help you decide what’s the best workout for you that day.
