These are a few of my favorite things… to do in Chicago during the wintertime! January in Chicago can be dull, bitter, and boring – but there are fun ways to embrace the cold and keep it fun! Here are some ideas to keep you smiling and forgetting about the chilly weather.
Skating in Millenium Park
I love love love skating. It is a great way to get outside, and, for Chicago specifically, see the beautiful city. Make sure to bring a hat, scarf, and mittens!
Ah, the classic Christkindlmarket. I make sure to go here at least once a year! It is so fun to do in the season leading up to Christmas. Here there are booths full of ornaments, lanterns, hats, mittens, and, of course, German pretzels, delicious candied nuts, and hot apple cider.
Lincoln Park Zoo Lights
Lights here are elaborate, colorful, and mesmerizing. Walk around the Lincoln Park Zoo to see their annual zoo lights – each section of the zoo brings something different! And, of course, a much-needed trip to Sweet Mandy B’s is a must after walking around all night.
