Checklist: Summer Picnic Essentials

Picnics are perfect activity in the summer: they entail good food and even better scenery. For more summer activities, read this post.

It is crazy easy for forget stuff when going on a picnic. Therefore, here is your checklist for what to bring on a summer picnic outside.

What to Bring On a Summer Picnic

– Pita Chips, Veggies, and Hummus

This could be considered random, but I legitimately love hummus with raw veggies and pita chips. Bring vegetables such a carrot, cucumbers, and celery. Try a flavored hummus, instead of plain. Ideas are Zesty Lemon, Garlic, Red Pepper, or Spinach & Artichoke.

– Sandwiches

PB & J is a classic for me. It never has and never will get old. However, if you’re going for a more sophisticated layout of food, bring sushi!

– 2 Blankets

One blanket to sit on, one blanket for warmth! It can easily get chilly once the sun goes down.

– Candle

Again, it can get chilly when the sun goes down. Candles are awesome for warmth and light.

Classic essentials for a picnic

– Camping chairs & mini table

This is optional, as you could totally sit on the blanket. However, chairs & a table can be nice if you’re able to carry them!

REI is a good place to get a picnic table, as it can also be used for camping.

– La Croix

I love these for picnics. Or anytime, really. They are a great treat and a perfect alternative to sugary sodas.
